The time has come to move on, leave your home of many years and familiarize yourself with entirely different surroundings. The kids were not the least bit impressed with dad’s well earned promotion when they knew it meant moving, that is until they knew the new address was by the seaside, and hopefully they would not be far from the beach. And then it was like “are we there yet?” Of course, there were a few things to nut out before that happened as is always the case when moving, one step at a time. Firstly the desired home must be found, in reasonably close proximity to schools, doctors, hospital and shopping centres, as well as ready access to public transport when needed. Once the house has been found and family approved it is time to move on to step two. This is just to sit down quietly with a nice cuppa, and write a check list of things that have to be done to ensure a successful and stress free move. Once you have a comprehensive list before you, as you go along you can check off the ones that have been accomplished. Leaving your present real estate Werribee for example means a little more than packing is needed to be done. Firstly decide as to whether you will pack up the home or call in a professional removalist to do the job for you. Get a firm quote and arrange a day for it to be done if you choose the latter option. Otherwise get sturdy boxes and mark them with the room the contents are from, making it easier when you arrive at your new real estate address. Our real estate Point Cook team are experts when it comes to supporting your move if you need advice. Pack delicate glasses, china and ornaments, framed photos and portraits in well protected boxes and mark the box as FRAGILE. Always pack the least used items first, leaving out things used regularly until the last possible moment. Ensure all private papers and items travel with you whatever option you choose. Don’t forget to arrange with power and phone providers to have the final account sent to your new address. Also ensure the power and phone are connected at your new destination for the date of your arrival so you can have a hot shower and cuppa after you arrive and put in a mail readdress to ensure any mail from anyone who has not been advised of your new address will be sure to reach you. Then do a quick check of the house to make sure you have left nothing behind, and head off to your new life. http://www.icpm.com.au
